ATLANTA BALLET'S UK DEBUT

Atlanta Ballet's Peter Pan
Royal Festival Hall - Tues 21 Dec to Sat 8 Jan

Making its long over-due British debut Atlanta Ballet bring John McFall's sensational full-length ballet Peter Pan to the Royal Festival Hall from 21 December to 8 January.

This high-flying, spectacular storybook ballet adventure, adapted from the timeless tale of a boy who refused to grow up, will enchant child- like minds of all ages. With extravagant costumes and a familiar cast of characters, Tinkerbell, an amazing crocodile, the Lost Boys battling evil, cut-throat pirates and Peter Pan overcoming Captain Hook to rescue the beautiful Indian Princess Tiger Lily, Atlanta Ballet's Peter Pan has something for everyone.

Atlanta Ballet is the USA's oldest, continually operating dance company. Founded in Atlanta, Georgia in 1929 as the USA first regional ballet company, Atlanta Ballet's roots have always been firmly grounded in the community and the Company has played a vital role in Atlanta's cultural revitalisation. In 1994 John McFall became only the third Artistic Director of Atlanta Ballet since 1929.

John McFall has previously created works for many companies including The National Ballet of Canada, Dance Theatre of Harlem and San Fransisco Ballet. He now leads Atlanta Ballet into their 70th anniversary season.

A total of 17 students from Central Ballet School, London have been cast by John McFall as Indian Maidens and Lost Boys.

Productions of Peter Pan are well known for their high flying stunts and in Atlanta Ballet's Peter Pan as many as four dancers will be flying at the same time accompanied by original music from Carmon DeLeone of the Cincinnati Ballet performed by the Royal Ballet Sinfonia.
