Wouldn't it be nice if interviewers checked their facts a bit better ? This interview decribes ENB as performing at the Festival Hall when they are in London. In fact they haven't been there for several years now: it's always the Albert Hall or the Coliseum.

I know it sounds like a minor grouse, but when you see one item which is obviously incorrect or outdated, you start to wonder about others.

The Evening Standard (sorry, no time to go browsing) reviews New York City Ballet's first bill in Edinburgh and also has an article on the construction of the new Laban Centre in New Cross which, despite costing, I think I read, 20m of Lottery money (like Sadler's Wells) has managed to get along without attracting any of the acrimony that either the Wells or the Royal Opera House did (probably because nobody knew what it was?!)

There's a Scotsman Festivals site which is worth checking for reviews. I found two there on NYCB:

http://festival.scotsman.com/cfm/reviews/reviews_specific.cfm?uniqueid=TS00119543&navlevel3=Edinburgh%20International%20Festival&submitflag=N

and

http://festival.scotsman.com/cfm/reviews/reviews_specific.cfm?uniqueid=1608b2&navlevel3=Edinburgh%20International%20Festival&submitflag=N

If this doesn't work, try festival.scotsman.com, and try searching for reviews from there. NYCB will be listed under EIF (Edinburgh International Festival).

More urban than urbane. New York City Ballet is on fighting form with its second programme, says Debra Craine:

These aren't links, but I thought I'd put them in here instead of starting a new thread:

Darcey is in this week's Country Life (17 August) doing a fashion photo spread.

There'll be an article in The Sunday Times's culture section about the film "Billy Elliot".
