"On the day tickets"

It seems to say on the ROH website that you can still queue for a "on the day" ticket like what you used to be able to do in the good old days, even though I thought they'd stopped that now. Can anyone actually confirm this, as I don't want to get a dawn train to London if it's not true!

I do believe that they still sell tickets on the day although from what I gather you have to be there early as there can be queues. They did mention it at the box office a few times when I was there as an option for those trying to get tickets for the Kirov.

Jim

I can confirm that they sell on-the-day tickets. I went to the ROH yesterday seeking a ticket for the Kirov's 'Romeo and Juliet' as I couldn't get through on the 'phone(!). I was informed that all tickets for all performances were sold out, but that I could queue for on-the-day tickets which went on sale at 3 p.m. The queue had already started at 1 p.m. yesterday, but with only 3 people in it. I didn't wait, but my guess is that if you get there around lunchtime you'll get a ticket.

This posting by Alison may be useful:

http://www.danze.co.uk/dcforum/happening/780.html#7

I found it by doing a search (Icon up top of page) using 'ROH day tickets' as the keywords and 3 months as the time frame. For completness I searched in all forums. It took about 12 seconds to come up with a bunch of postings and there might well be some more usful stuff in there.

I'm stressing searching a bunch more these days because we have an awful lot of stuff in here. Postings is perhaps still seen as a 'current' interactive thing, rather then as a resource in its own right.

So when are you comeing down Jim?!
