"Mini-poll for 7th August"
 
   I'm really keen to get back to having a different poll each week. So what is the next poll going to be on? We have until Wednesday to come up with a good poll and a few choices... then in the second half of the week I'm hopeing that folks will help in coming up with more choices.

   I was to late for the bloody poll, but Adam Cooper is my favourite without a doubt. He was just mesmerising as "Odetto" the Swan in Swan Lake. I don't understand why they haven't done this all-male swan thing before. Swans are bad-tempered mean birds who have agression problems and an inferiority complex.They are NOT the dainty feminine thing we usually see. Adam Cooper is beautiful and telented and perfect as the swan. (And hey, everyone liked him as the black Swan in those leather pants, right?)

   how about something on the best dance magazine? Or favourite dance photographer? Or even which theatre has the best programmes! Programmes are for me my very own 'Spectre de la rose' which I can look at endlessly to take me back to a special performance.

   OK, ok.. next Monday's Mini-poll will be:

"Who's your favourite male dancer?"

So what we need now are names. I think I have to suggest the same rules as for the ballerinas poll. ie dancers seen in London that are London based or come in from overseas. We will have an all Uk one at some future time.

   I would like to put in a suggestion of Peter Boal (who I'm glad to hear is NOT definitely retiring) and, if we could hold this for a couple of weeks, for Damien Woetzel. I think people will be really excited. I don't think many of them have seen Damien here.

   Oops, sorry. Damien isn't London based and will be dancing in Edinburgh. But Peter Boal danced gloriously last summer at the Festival Hall so he should count. What about Roberto Bolle? Any suggestions from SFB?

   I'm talking BRB's Robert Parker, not the Trocks one. Surely BRB have appeared in London recently? However I see that the Trocks one has been nominated lower down. Myself, if we're talking about the Trocks would rather nominate Manolo Molina. This is getting a bit daft

Yes...

...but the criteria is London based or come in from overseas.

Its funny criteria I know but there is method in it. If we don't watch it we get 2 or 3 from BRB and some from SB and NBT etc up against Zelensky and the some of the worlds best. Which is not fair to anybody. Better to have a separate poll for uk only or soemthing. That was the thinking anyway.

   If the qualifications for entry are as I understand them we should include Stiefel and Corella.
I would say, however, that having to pick between Durante, Annaniashvili and Asylmuratova has given me a huge problem although I do not see a similar problem on the male side.

   Dear Bruce,

Is there an actual limit to your selection. I can see restricting dancers to the two main British ballet companies as they would be the most familiar to the readers, but even so, I'm surprised there is no Acosta.
