How about a ballet version of the Jerry Springer Show! All those punch ups can be choreographed and it could have the sound track could just a long succession of beep, beep, beep to the sound of "Jerry!Jerry!Jerry!" . I am sure that MacMillan could do something with the love triangle and other disputes which the Jerry Springer Show specializes in!! |

I suspect I have seen one of the most unsuitable synopses for a ballet (danced by the Kristiansund Balletcenter) while on a cruise in Norway. Scene III (of 6),for example, danced to a "Psalm from Smøla" goes like this: "The weather plays a vital part in the drying process. Too hot and the fish will spoil, if it rains the fish will be ruined. In this piece we start in the heat of the summer. The women must stand the fish up so they do not spoil. In the background we hear a storm building. It is important to stack the fish and cover them with a characteristic round wooden cover like an umbrella before the rain comes." If you're wondering what happens in the end, the final scene ("Spanish Variation")is very dramatic: "The consumer in Spain uses Klippfisch to make many dishes including Bacalao, which Kristiansund has adopted as one of its traditional dishes. In its Spanish form bacalao is made of tomatoes, potatoes, onions, olive oil, peppers, and of course, Klippfisch." |
