"she faces 2,500 pairs of merciless eyes waiting for her tiniest falter". What a charming way of describing the ROH audience, who I'm sure, will to a man (especially the men! - or woman, for that matter) be rooting for her to do well (and why shouldn't she? It's not as if she's new to the role). Why should they do otherwise?

Tamara Rojo used to dance with English National Ballet, she was recruited by Derek Deane after he saw her with Scottish Ballet and she was magnificent in the Albert Hall Romeo and Juliet. I think its an even better move for her to the Royal though admittedly a loss for Deane and ENB. I hear that she is to replace Darcey Bussell in a performance of Giselle on July 31, it will be her debut at ROH and I really do urge everyone to go and see her because she is the most wonderful dancer and is sure to be brilliant. This performance will also be her house debut and I believe that it is a role that she has not tackled before. Lets hope that this is the beginning of a bright future for her and some excellent performances for the London audiences.

House debut, but not a new role for her - Giselle is a particular favourite of hers. We intervied Rojo a couple of years back - and it's time for a refresher I think!

I too am looking forward to seeing her at RB - particulalry in the MacMillan repertoire.
