Poll: Should the touring company's (BRB, ENB, NBT, SB etc) do a bit more in London and a bit less elsewhere?

8th May 2000

An interesting contrast to the last poll - about the RB touring more outside of London. No thirst here to particularly change the status quo is there!

I guess those in London will have to continue to track to the surrounding towns, or further afield even, to see some companies. that's said ENB, BRB and now NBT have regular London seasons so we should not feel too hard-done-by.

LAST EDITED ON 17-May-00 AT 12:43 PM (GMT)

But on the other hand, those of us who are London-bound have for years been missing out on an awful lot of what ENB and in particular BRB are showing around the country. After all, look at how little of what BRB has done in the last year is scheduled for London.

And I hope that all those who voted for the Royal doing more performances outside London had the generosity to vote for the touring companies doing the opposite. After all, fair's fair!

Hmm... why do I get the feeling that there are a lot of Londoners out there who want it both ways?
Actually I voted against the RB touring, since I imagine if they did they's only go to places that are just (or more) as inaccessible from here as London. Might just as well keep 'em in one city where I know where they are all the time. Personally though I think that anyone who voted no to the RB touring and yes to touring companies spending more time in London is (to put it politely) being incredibly greedy...
