"Nijinsky: Death of a Faun"

No time to write a review, but this play/monologue/whatever you like to call it is on at the Opera House's Linbury Theatre until the end of next week (including a Sunday evening performance). It stars Nicholas Johnson (who I remember as a mean Tybalt with Festival Ballet) as Nijinsky, imprisoned in the sanatorium, reflecting on his life and his love/hate relationship with Diaghilev on the day of the latter's funeral (and also reproducing some of his roles). Worth seeing, and provides an additional insight into the Nijinsky works in the Royal Ballet's Diaghilev programme which begins tomorrow. However, anyone thinking of bringing children should be warned that there are several minutes' worth of nudity, plus a few other subjects that you might prefer not to have to explain!
