"Australian Fille & Morgante"

I've just been watching a video of the Australian Ballet's production of Ashton's La Fille mal Gardee, filmed in 1989. I have some minor
reservations about both production and performance, but for me the star of the show is the Alain, played by a dancer called Stephen
Morgante, who I've never heard of before or since.

He's a very good dancer, slightly camp, intelligent, very funny, and doesn't fall into the usual trap of playing Alain as a total moron,
which makes the plot that much believable. Does anyone know what happened to him? Is he still dancing?

I'm afraid I can't offer much than to say Stephen hasn't been with the AB for number of years now. I think he left the company some time between 1993 and 1996. Perhaps another Australian can shed more light on this situation!
