Photograph from The Times site, by Dee Conway, and comes from the following review...
About as alive as the real thing. Debra Craine sees Elvis Presley leave the building - and send a cheap no-hoper on in his place as The King:

Elvis brings a bizarre bout of bad taste. Ismene Brown warms to The King at Sadler's Wells:

Not so much about dance but an interesting read dept...
West End awash with the next big things. A flood of big musicals is coming. But are producers just playing safe?. Maev Kennedy, arts and heritage correspondent:

At the bottom of Debra Craine's Times article there is a link and a very positive mini-review of ballet.co. Whilst it would have been nice if they got the name right, it is a fine tribute and a sign of the times (unintended pun...honest). Here is the text:

UK Ballet

Elegant and well-designed website for all things balletic. Has many links to other ballet sites, and a search engine that provides access to reviews of the work of the Paris Opera Ballet

I was amazed... not least because we don't have an easy way to find POB reviews! But we do now.. and I put a link in on the home page which will hopefully catch folks as they come through

Er... while I'm here... the new magazine is released.

Fascinating mind in a flexible physique. Ismene Brown reviews La Bayadère performed by the Kirov Ballet at the Festival Theatre, Edinburgh:

Heard but no longer seen. There is neither the will nor the public tolerance for cultural force-feeding, says Norman Lebrecht. (A wide ranging piece about the BBBC and Sky and the new Arts channel):

The FT archive machine is 'unavailable' at the moment...

Just found this one from teh 1st..

He may look like Elvis, but this is Johnny and he just ain't rock'n'roll. The King &pip; Sadler's Wells, London. By Jenny Gilbert:

The FT site also has a link to another Independent article about Paris Opera Ballet. An extensive piece though I can't see who the author is.

(**) the FT site (http://www.ft.com) is structured in such a way that we invariably cannot give you a simple URL to reviews. Importantly however they are a route to pieces on other Newspaper sites that are not directly published on those sites. To get at this you really need to use the Advanced Search page:
http://www.globalarchive.ft.com/search-components/index.jsp

Parrots, perfidy and huge pleasure. Clement Crisp on teh Kirov Bayadere:

(I am very unsure about this link continuing to work for any length of time. If it does not work you will need to go and find it yourself by doing a search on the FT Advanced Search page:

In the international edition of the Financial Times today (6 May) that I bought in Hong Kong, which I know differs somewhat from the UK edition, there is a piece by Alastair Macaulay on the Diaghilev programme starting tonight at Covent Garden entitled "Le Dieu de la Danse", concentrating on Nijinsky's choreography.

The King is all shook up. Tamper with Presley at your peril. Peter Schaufuss wanted to mount a 'dansical' about Elvis: the estate's lawyers hounded him and the result, says DAVID DOUGILL, is a bit of a dog (also covers Kirov La Bayadere):
