Had a delightful evening with BGC last night. As usual their show fizzed with energy. There were eight items on the bill, two of them classical - Grand Pas Classique from Raymonda and a pas de deux from Bournonville's Flower Festival in Genzano which was danced charmingly by our very own diarist, Benjamin Whitson partnering a sweet little Hae-Ran Jung. Indeed special mention must go to all our BGC diarists. The Hampson piece was called Dinaresade danced to medieval music with an eastern flavour. This was originally done for Wayne Sleep's Aspects of Dance but Christopher has re-worked it into a more complete piece especially for the Central students. Very beautifully presented in glowing colours. There was more emphasis on jazzy modern pieces this time round, but the whole show left the audience gasping for breath. As usual Philip Feeney got a huge cheer. But the chap sitting behind me said he was so exhausted by the energy of it all that he thought he'd go straight to bed when he got home! He didn't know that the kids still had to pack the whole show up before they could go home. How do they do it?

I saw them a few weeks ago in Cannock and like you , I really enjoyed the performance. Very energetic indeed. My favourite part was "Dog Suite", the tree was priceless, even though it is an obvious gimmick.
