"Rambert at Sadler's - televised ?"

There is some fairly small print in the latest Rambert leaflet emailed out from Sadler's that the BBC will be filming there for the performance on 3rd June - there is a hint that this might be a live broadcast, if I read it correctly.

That performance is Programme 1, I think (Ghost Dances, Four Scenes)

Thanks, Lynette, that was another one of those things that I intended to post about some time ago and then forgot. Yes, that was my reading as well (I shall be delighted, as I'm too busy that week to go). BTW, I think the programme also contains Tetley's Embrace Tiger and Return to Mountain. Oh, and that whole week is a Prom week with standing in the back of the stalls for about 4. A really good opportunity to go and give Rambert a try if you've never seen them before.

The standing room is actually at the front of the stalls at SW, not the back. They are removing the first nine rows of seats to create standing for 300 to 400 people, so you can come and be right up close to the dancers and in amongst the TV cameras. The broadcast on Saturday 3 June will be a live relay of Ghost Dances and Four Scenes, introduced by Deborah Bull and directed by Ross McGibbon - it's the first live televised dance performance from the new Sadler's Wells. Come and join the fun for 4.50!

Interesting. I wonder how the people seated behind them will be able to see?

Luckily the people in seats behind the standing people will be able to see over their heads.

The programme is confirmed as Glen Tetley's Embrace Tiger and Return to Mountain, Bruce's Four Scenes and Ghost Dances (last chance to see the latter).

Standing tickets are only 4.50 and the additional booking fee doesn't apply (normally an extra 1.90).
