   This should keep Jim happy...

This comic can even pull her own leg. Royal Ballet golden girl Sylvie Guillem is about to prove she's got a sense of humour, she tells Debra Craine:

The Wildor article was in the Sunday Telegraph - I think regular buyers of the paper should ask for a refund! btw her name was spelt wrongly on the front page of the ST as well.

American dream - and a nightmare. The Royal Ballet's new mixed bill, New World, is a distinctly mixed blessing, says Debra Craine:

There was an interesting story in the Telegraph, I think on Friday, not directly related to ballet, but to a venue. The De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill-On-Sea is under threat of being taken over by a pub chain, who apparently (and not surprisingly) have no interest in putting on arts events. Bang goes one of ENB's small-scale tour venues.

   I am very surprised.

De La Warr Pavillion is surely a Grade 2 listed building because it is is superb example of art deco architecture. There was even a BBC program about building. Sadly the interior is tatty and the theatre is inadequate.

I urge people living London to see the ENB there on April 22 because of the building as well as the ballet.

Perhaps if ENB had scheduled a matinee, we might be able to, but those of us who have to use public transport are really stuck for getting back from Bexhill in the evenings.
