"POB tour in Manchester - Perhaps Cancellation"

I heard that POB tour could be cancelled because the Lowry will be not ready for the event.
Somebody could me confirm that problem exist for Lowry's construction.

I was thinking of trying to sell my Lowry ticket because I am on vacation that week. But maybe I will get my money back anyhow.

However I would say that it does seem like a bad idea to open the Lowry with such a massive production. Especially given that the sets are unknown to the stage hands until shortly before the performance.

I think it is comon sense for new theatres to have a "shakedown" season before the grand opening!

The view from the Lowry is that they are on schedule for their opening. They also note that they have at least one other show to put on before POB get there!

It would be unwise to plan on it not happening I think....

It seems the problem is a floor problem which is not yet put in the theater. Could someone confirm that POB tour should be continue. I know that dancer continue rehearsals and theorically they go back the 30 april, but they have doubt on the performance. They don't know if they should dance really.

Oh well! if they cancel Manchester maybe they will come to London instead! Whatever the outcome I cannot make it as I will be on holiday that week

I have a good stall ticket for the Lowery for the Saturday matinee AND a day return train ticket from London to Manchester. Any reasonable offers would be entertained. I suppose that given that it is on Virgin trains I should be paying to give it away.

If they don't go to Manchester, they don't go to London I think but I will want to know if the Lowry is ready for their tour or not.

The Lowry are very insistent that they are going to open on time and the first performance is a week tomorrow - POB follow a few days after that.

Of course having builders in is never easy and I'm sure there is a mountain of work yet still to do. However both the Sadler's Wells and the Royal Opera House both opened when they said and there was no last minute changes of date.

I am sure they will perform even if with a reduce scenery if necessary. But when it comes down to it the corp de ballet are the best scenery in La Bayadere.
