I have a hypothesis - that what is contained in the on-line booking page is the new booking period, which starts on the March 30th. In the corresponding booking leaflet, the performances for Manon after that date are included as 'booking open', as they fall within the current booking period. The ones before that date have been dropped along with the rest of the current booking period, perhaps whether or not they are sold out. So, as Bruce says I'm sure that the info. in ballet.co's excellent Listings is correct.
In passing, the revamped (I think) SFB website is probably the best I have seen of the Company sites with:
- On-line booking
- The comments from the programme notes about the ballets together with plenty of photos. Further, these notes discuss the ballets and the choreography unlike the ROH ones which always are about the music and only sometimes about the dance.
- Biographies with photos
- A 'Casual Friday' scheme to bring in newcomers with pre-performance refreshments, a company welcome, a talk and a good seat for $35.
- Best of all a weekly news update including casting changes.
It really sets a model for how a company site should operate. This week the Company performs 2 programmes with 6 new works, 4 by members of the Company with extensive details about all 6 works. David Palmer, who partnered the divine Lucia Lacarra in 'The Cage' at Sadler's Wells, has created a work with Lacarra in one of the roles.
I continue to be disappointed that we couldn't persuade them to stay and become the Sidcup and Farnborough Ballet.
