"Dance research - help!"

I am a post-graduate dance in Germany, researching into the effect falling over on stage has on the development of critical self-awareness and self-irony in dancers. I hope to show that public humiliation (falling in public) is an important contributory factor in cognitive development, and as such, dancers are in a bodily-kinaesthetic sense, more "intelligent" than non-dancers.

I am doing a comparative study of English, Spanish, Italian and German dancers to see whether nationality is a significant factor in the development of critical self-awareness.

As an intersubjective study, I am trying to find out whether people perceive any of these nationalities as being more or less critically self-aware after falling on stage. If you have any thoughts on this matter, or first-hand experience of it, I would be very interested to know.
