"Natalia Makarova"
I don't know if it's widely known but Natalia Makarova is appearing in a play tonight and tomorrow about Lydia Lopokova, and talking about her own rather exciting life, at the National Gallery. It's a two-hander based on letters between the Diaghilev ballerina (one of Diaghilev's favourites) and her unlikely husband, the famous economist John Maynard Keynes. The play was first done last year at Charleston. It's at 6.30 (early) in the Clore Gallery.

Actually, Carolyn, this event takes place at the Tate Gallery, not the National Gallery. The nearest tube is Pimlico on the Victoria Line. I'm hoping to go tomorrow.
