"ROH booking"

The phone lines are constantly engaged, the queue at the box office (on day 2) is still nearly out of the door - don't bother unless you can afford to spend over an hour queuing - so I thought I'd try booking the easy way - via the website. They haven't even got the booking facility up for that yet! Something has *got* to be done about this. (Preferably staggering the postal booking and personal booking periods as they used to, I should think!)

   It does certainly take time...

I booked yesterday. It was originally my intention to go up to CG and start queuing around 6:45-07:00 but I have the flu and even a cup of tea in bed at 5AM wasn't going to get me started. So I had to use the phone.

I started dialling, on my flu death bed(!), at 10 and eventually got through 18 minutes later. During that time I was just using the redial key constantly. I was then in the 'waiting for operator' queue for about 25 minutes. All up it took 50 minutes, when I could do nothing else. On a positive note the choice of tickets seemed reasonable.

On the Internet booking side I think it is very wise that ROH don't open that on the same day - all the tickets could be gone very quickly unless a lot of very elaborate arrangements (themselves liable to go wrong...) were made.

I left booking my tickets on the telephone until about 4.45pm yesterday. I did get through straight away, but I did have to wait for half an hour to get an operator. My advice is don't panic. Wait a couple of days and the pushy pensioners will have got all their tickets, and things should ease up! There seems to be tickets at all prices for ballet at the moment. HAPPY CHRISTMAS everyone!
