"RB Nutcracker"

Did anyone go to the first night? I noticed in the Telegraph that McDermott is replacing Hartley
on Monday. Did Belinda dance for the Opening? She was not mentioned in the programme. Is she injured?

I got to the opening night and will put up a review tomorrow. In a nutshell it's nice to see the Wright production back. Darce was radiant, Bolle was radiant. It was always difficult to put on from a technical perspective and the newness of the stage and systems has not made it easier... they were many techncial problems.

I believe that Belinda is not very well at the moment hence the changes

Belinda was on briefly in Elite on Dec 1, but not Dec 4. She was reported injured in the programme on Dec 20. For the record Christina was serene, confident and utterly charming, and seemed to inspire Inaki Urlezaga who was on fine form with excellent partnering and splendid tours in his solo. The best dancing came from Zenaida Yanowsky who was a commanding and magnificent Rose Fair, dancing with real grandeur and thoroughly earning the spontaneous bursts of applause she received during her solos. Another very sweet Clara in Mayuko Maeda who looks set to follow Yoshidas estimable footsteps
