"Cheap tickets for newcomers to the ROH!"

(I tried posting this yesterday, a really long post, but the server went and crashed and it obviously hasn't gone through, so here's the gist):

Glad to see the return of the Paul Hamlyn Week to the Royal Opera House (either late Jan-beginning of Feb or late Feb-beginning of March, can't remember). This won't be of use to most of our London readers, the majority of whom seem to have been to the ROH at least once before, because it's for first-timers only, but it's a really good scheme, and very heavily subsidised by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation - I think tickets before the House closed were between about £1 and £15 or something equally ridiculous. As far as I can work out from the ROH 1999-2000 season brochure, the performances would seem to be La Bohème, the Ashton bill and I think it was Manon, although it might have been Coppelia instead. They seem to deal mainly with groups, and I don't know whether they've got any tickets left anyway, but even if they haven't it'd be worth getting on the mailing list for next year. You can't book direct with the Box Office, although I'm sure they could tell you who to contact, or I think you can write to the Paul Hamlyn Week at the ROH, Covent Garden for further details.
