"NDT2"

What can you tell me about them? The flyers are, as usual, full of gushing promises, but first hand info would be good .

The young arm of NDT - they put on a good professional show and are well worth seeing. Here's a link that brings up our own NDT2 reviews:

Young keen energetic and always worth seeing - Indigo Rose if they are doing it was choreographed for them by Kylian. Johan Inger and Paul Lightfoot also choreograph for them. They also do pieces by other choreographers such as Naharin and Hans Van Mannan as well as pieces from NDT's workshops - never a dull experience!

Definitely see them if you can Ann.
Had my tickets for Glasgow for ages - although I see there's now a 10% off offer here, so ticket sales can't be that great. May be worth asking re any offers before you buy.

They're doing Minus 16, which I have misgivings about. When dancers start spouting their life histories on stage I find it a bit of a turn-off. I remember a particularly disastrous evening with Physical Recall .

Also, on the bill, something new, not specified, by Paul Lightfoot and 'Dream Play' by Johan Inger, said to be "wonderfully surreal, bizarre and extremely funny".

Not being given to so-called 'avant garde' stuff, though a great fan of Central Ballet shows, I'm in two minds. So, persuade me....?

I,m not a great fan of Minus 16 -I have liked other pieces Johan Inger and Paul Lightfoot have done for NDT2 but know nothing of these - I'd be inclined to take a risk anyway.

   -breathtaking...
-glossily virtuoso....
-finest young dancers on the planet...
-enormously funny -'Minus 16'...
-witty, quirky and virtuosic - Paul Lightfoot's 'Sad Case'...
-vigorous and energetic - Jiri Kylian's 'Indigo Rose'...

Any of the above do it for you? - All from their own marketing.

All I'd add from seeing them (just the once) is that the standard of dancing was truly impressive.

Go on - Take the risk!

( "virtuosic"??! )

Oops. Just re-read your original post Ann, and realise you've already seen the flyers. Sorry to repeat it all. Ah well...

   Go!

I've always enjoyed the company which is young, fresh and very well trained. Its a mixed bill so allow for one piece not doing much for you - but still have a great night. I'm sure the reviews we hold will be supportive. It's not ballet - rather darned good dance spawned from a class company and generally with class rep.
