"Fame at last...."

You may be impressed to know I am quoted in the May issue of no less august a journal than 'Dance Europe'. Not only that, I am quoted (p.9) in the company of the likes of Ismene Brown, Anna Kisselgoff, Liza Minelli and Mats Ek.

It seems that in the Balletco links of April 11 I said 'This Judith Mackrell revew of the RB's new tripe bill has just come on-line....'

Geddit? ...tripe?.....triple? Now, I could bluff it out here and claim that I meant to say 'tripe' as a comment on the generally unfavourably received 'Cross Culture' triple bill (which is what I think Dance Europe thinks) but the fact is, it was just a sloppy typo. I never actually got to see Cross Culture, as it happens

I am indeed - nice one Ann. I've always thought of Ballet.co as a testament to the typo too!

Could it have been the ballet critic's equivalent of a Freudian slip, do you think?

Dance Europe gloat over the tripe (sic) bill in London at their peril. Clement Crisp's tirade against it in the FT laid the blame firmly at the door of a phenomenon for which the words 'Dance' and 'Europe' are an unusually apposite collocation.
