"Suzanne Farrell- Washington DC"

I thought readers might be interested to hear that from 21-24 October at the Kennedy Center in Washington, Suzanne Farrell is staging a performance with dance students, covering some of her most famous roles. Apparently she will speak during the performances and talk about the history of the ballets and her own involvement with them. The programme is:
Divertimento No. 15 (Solos and Pas de Deux) - Balanchine
Romeo and Juliet (Scene d'Amour) - Bejart
Midsummer Night's Dream (Excerpt) - Balanchine
Apollo - Balanchine
Afternoon of a Faun - Robbins
Meditatation - Balanchine
Tzigane - Balanchine
Variations - Balanchine

So, if anyone finds themselves in the DC area, it might be a very interesting event to attend, particularly as tickets are only $25.

The box office telephone number is (202) 467 4600.

There may be some confusion, becuase Farrell has taught master classes to students in a summer program at the Kennedy Center for several years. Some of those students will be in the company, but I think it's mostly professional dancers. All the names are not yet known. Three who might be known to American readers are Philip Neal, Christina Fagundes and Veronica Lynn.
