"Ballet Sales"

It is Boxing Day when our thoughts normally move on from Christmas to the Sales expected to start to-morrow. Unfortunately the main ballet shops come into the Louis Vuitton category of 'We don't have sales'. They don't need to because very little of their merchandise is seasonal. There are still however a few bargains to be found -details below

If you still want some retail therapy in the West End the main 3 shops, Freeds,Porselli and Bloch are all open. It is worth calling in advance to check opening times and availability of certain items. Details can be found

http://www.ballet.co.uk/magazines/yr_01/jan01/dance_shops.htm

Bloch are having a small sale of last season's stock of clothes. There are no shoes or regulation wear included.

Porselli have always got a sale basket that has discontinued stock. It is always a treat to rummage through this and find something that you had wanted but forgot about. Prices are very good-(Bloch cotton unitard 10). This is the shop that will tempt you buy - such is the display of merchandise- if they have not got it- it is likely to be upstairs. Current 'Must Haves' are the watercolor skirts. If you have seen them - you will know why

More to follow.......

I was pleased to come across your message under ballet. My little girl Jacqueline has started ballet and just did not know where to locate the clothes. Thank you to much and this will help me as I have limited income having a disabled son.

I would like to purchase the whole regulation attire and lovely things but will have to get bit by bit but thank you

For dancewear have also a look at 'Gamba' in Garrick Street (CG.)
Sometimes they organize interesting mid-season sales.(last one in November) And...the service is *first class* ! What a relief after another bad-service on Saturday at Porselli's !!!
