"Posting by Maria removed"
I've just removed a post a post by somebody called Maria about a dance critic.

If Maria wants to make cheap points about anybody the least she can do is have the guts to include a real email address and not post anonymously.

Thank you.

Oh dear - another posting that had to be deleted. I loathe censorship but I must applaud Bruce's actions. Personal attacks on indviduals should not be allowed unless backed up by evidence (and a source given) . Not only does it risk a potential libel action, it is also very unpleasant.

But the most disgraceful behavior is for those who make personal attacks and then not declare their identity. This is tantamount to cowardice. They attack other people but conceal themselves from consequence. The victims has no opportunity for justice or redress.

We live in a free country where we are free to say what we want. But these freedoms come with the obligation to be held accountable if our actions effect or harm other people. Freedom also gives people the right to receive redress if they are wronged. Concealed attacks on individuals on the website are the subjugation of these basic rights. Therefore in the name of freedom slanderous and anonymous postings must be deleted.
