"Neumeier South Bank Sho"

LAST EDITED ON 05-08-01 AT 09:30 PM (GMT)

I've just been watching this, video'd last week, and I was surprised to discover that the last 20 minutes or so shows Neumeier not with his own company but with POB, rehearsing his ballet Magnificat, and most of it consists of a rehearsal and performance of a long pas de deux done by Guillem and Manuel Legris. So Guillem fans who want to know more about what she looked like at 22 should take a look!

(Quite why the South Bank Show was giving us a 14 year old film I'm not sure - maybe as it was broadcast at 12.50 a.m they thought no-one would be watching anyway.)

Jane, I found it strange too. I was a little disappointed as I expected to see the current Hamburg Ballet and more ballets by him such as "Kameliendame". But that pdd by Guillem & Legris was a bonus although the quality of the film was really poor.
