Funny, fun and very fizzy. Ismene Brown reviews the Bolshoi's Don Quixote at the Coliseum:

It's weird, it's wonderful - it must be Edinburgh. With August festival fever about to strike, Andy Lavender looks back at some of the triumphs and disasters that bear the stamp of the world's biggest celebration of the arts:

an old Bolshoi DonQ review by Crisp - but for some reason the FT site is showing it as released today:

Only the one link today, although the FT signalled a piece on ballet which turned out to be a wrongly labeled Bolshoi Opera review. The Times has a piece under the title Dance... but that turned out to be about club dance music creators Groove Armada. We are coming into the slow season I think!

They were Britain's first black dance company. How come no one's ever heard of them? Keith Watson on Les Ballets Negres:

Also worth noting from yesterday is the Times obituary of Anne Woolliams, best known for her work with the Stuttgart Ballet. The accompanying photo shows her in Lilac Garden, with Pina Bausch as Caroline, and retained from the printed version is a nice typo reference to that well known Welsh dancer, Marcia Llaydee.

7. "About the film "Chance or Coincidence""
In response to message #6

According to my friend's review of this film,
dancing part of the film has been performed by Alessandra Martines(the leading actress) and Laurent Hilaire (etoile of POB). Unfortunately you cannot listen to his very attractive voice in this film.

THis film will be released in Japan this autumn.
