"RB Swan Lake"

I really want to see RB's Swan Lake. Could someone recommend a a cast? I've never seen any of these dancers, so I don't know how to distinguish between the different partnerships.

Thanks!

This is not so helpful... they are all interesting castings and each worth seeing for one reason or another!

I'll leave it for others to do the difficult bit of elaboration!!

You'll probably enjoy any cast, Sarah. I wish I could see them all! Rojo/Acosta/Benjamin/Kobborg are all fine dancers with great dramatic ability so you'll get real fireworks, especially from Rojo/Acosta. Though I haven't seen them dance together in this, I'm sure they'll be sensational.

Yoshida and Cope are more lyrical dancers - in fact she's my favourite Odette - though they don't dancw together that much as he is often paired with the taller dancers and she is very petite. Yanowsky is very much a rising star who won great praise for her debut last year. She's good in everything she does!

Aargh - this is impossible. They're all wonderful dancers. It's a matter of preference but if I were going to choose one performance it would be in this order:

Benjamin/Kobborg
Rojo/Acosta
Yoshida/Cope
Yanowsky/Cope

But I'm sure everyone would have their own order of preference. You'll enjoy them all!!!

I saw Yanowsky and Cope last year and they were just fantastic. They were perfectly matched in height and she has a wonderful ethereal quality. I would certainly strongly recommend.

I'd recommend Bussell and Bolle, but unfortuneatly they're not dancing so my second option would be Rojo and Acosta. I saw Rojo with both ENB and Royal in this ballet and both performances were touching. Acosta gives a very Bold, Butch Prince and together should give an 'electrifying Black Swan PDD'. I'd also love to see Yanowsky in the role, her long limbs and amazing command of the stage would really compliment the boyish charm and elegance of Cope's Prince. The choice is yours but you're bound to be impressed by any cast in my opinion.

I agree, Rojo and Acosta got some great reviews in NY.
