JOSSYPUP: According to some information posted up by Susy (see the thread on the News, Company & Venue Information), Adam's taking part in the Spoleto Festival's International Dance Marathon. I managed to find an English version of their programme page, which said:

>INTERNATIONAL DANCE MARATHON
>July 13, 14 (7:45 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.)

>DIAMOND'S TOES
>Curated by Alberto Testa
>Finally, after so many years the Dance Marathon, one of the >world's most renowned ballet events, makes its return to >Spoleto. Aim of this year's edition is to give back ballet in >Italy the place it well deserves. 12 dancers from the world's >most important theatres (Paris Opera, Teatro La Scala of Milan, >Royal Ballet, Bolshoi Theatre, Vienna Opera, Munich Opera >Frankfurt Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, etc.) Theme of the >evening: love and poetry through choreographies by George >Balanchine, William Forsythe, Jirý KilyÓn, Kenneth Mac Millan, >August Bournonville, Marius Petipa, Nacho Duato, Jorma Uotinen.

For some reason, they didn't bother to list on the English page some of the names of the 12 dancers, but on the Italian page it says the list includes Eleonora Abbagnato, Adam Cooper, Viviana Durante, Tetsuya Kumakawa, & Roberto Bolle.

Looks like Adam is in very good company indeed. Do you know exactly what this event is or entails? I wonder if it will be taped for televsion.

Think it highly unlikely that it will be taped for TV. But what choreographers, what dancers! This has to be somewhat of an event. Is anybody going?

I would like to feature a website about him but don't have much of any resources to do so. If any of you know where I could find something substantial to use, please let me know. Thanks!

Sarah

The above link will give you an interview with Adam Cooper in
the LA times about 4 years ago
There is not a lot on him on the web but a suggest you try to find out something about Matthew Bourne's company as Adam was the main dancer there for a few years
The companys version of Swan Lake is truely magnificent with or without Adam Cooper I was fortunate enough to see them perform in the UK where I live twice, once with Adam and again last year in London but he had left the company by then. A video is available of the performance with Adam I have a copy and would offer to do a copy for you but I it will be in a different format to the U.S.
I am at work but if you want to email me at my home address
house.steve@btinternet.com I should be able to tell you more
about Adam Cooper

For some unknown reason I have seen him about five times in the last six months. He is ussually at Covent Garden when Sarah Wildor(his wife) is dancing, but I also saw him at the Hexigon Reading in the audience for Images of Dance and once in the street, I hope he does not think I am following him.
I unfortunately missed him dancing in Exeter. I ought to add these sightings are purely accidental, but I seem to be haunted by him. I now discover his dad is afriends music teacher.
