"Irek Mukhamedov"

To my horror, I noticed in the ROH "Friends" info that Irek Mukhamedov is not in the list of guest artists! Does anyone know what he is going to be doing and where?

He has recently been teaching students at the English National Ballet school in Chelsea.

That was just for a week, but the press release quotes Kathryn Wade (Director of the the ENB School) as saying "We hope Irek will be a regular Guest Teacher in the years to come".

Thanks for the info. What lucky students they are! Do you think Irek has retired from performing altogether? I sincerely hope not - I saw all seven of his performances with RB this year and thoroughly enjoyed them all.

Katherine, it sounds so depressing when you put it like that - was 7 all he had? If so, if Irek hasn't already retired, it looks like he's on the verge of it.

Sorry - don't mean to be depressing! Guest Artists just don't get to dance that many performances I suppose. Besides, I think I would prefer to see one of Irek's Albrecht's than 20 of anyone else. OK, so maybe I am a little biased...!
