"Going to the ballet"

Is going to the ballet more than 5 times in 3 months greedy?

Or am I just one of the lucky ones that love this wonderful art?

I recommend that anyone under 26 becomes a friend of the ROH at only 25. You get a quarterly magasine, early booking forms which basically guarantee you to get the seats/performance that you want, a few discount vouchers etc...

Are there other "friends" of the ROH out there?

If so, do you think that it is a good thing/value for money etc...

Absolutely not, Lottie! After all, there are people who post on this page who probably go that many times a week at times, let alone over 3 months! (And after all, I can't talk, having done I think 7 Giselles alone in just over 2 months!).

7 Giselles. Wow - did you see just one company perform or more?

I am off to see the Kirov dance Jewels this Saturday and can't wait...I think I am fast becoming an addict!

Well, when I got to 13, I became more curvy that I wanted and my ballet teacher told me in no uncertain manner that I was too "titty" as Derek Deane would put it! - so becoming a ballet dancer was a very sad and very big no no.

Oh well, I suppose I can enjoy it without the pain.........

Two - ENB and RB. (More worrying, I think, is the fact that I went to London, Southampton *and* Bristol to see them!) Even *I'm* now Giselle-d out for the rest of the year.

Lottie - I do think it is a good think from the point of view of booking advantages/access to rehersals it offesr (the magazine is ok but I'd doubt I'd buy if if it was in the shops).

However, while it is excellent value when you are under 26 (I joined to as part of this scheme), it is not quite such good value at nearly 80 for a full membership after that. Having said that I have still got my membership and wouldn't give it up!
