"Guillem in Romeo and Juliet at POB "

Guillem doesn't dance Juliet in two weeks at POB and will be replace. We don't again really by which dancers but certainly Letestu will make her debuts more early than previous.

Any idea then who will dance the 14th now? I have bought a bag which doubles as a seat so I can queue for the free performance!!
Do you think the queue will be shorter as many ballet fans will be going to Versailles to see the Kirov?
Also people said that I would need to be ther at 8am to get a good seat-what time do you think would be the latest to get in at all, bearing in mind that Bastille is huge? Merci d'avance.

Theorically it must be Agnes Letestu and Nicolas Le Riche who must dance the free performance, but nothing is sure with Guillem injury.
I don't think queue will be shorter. People who go to free matinee are not the same who will pay for Kirov at Versailles. Except some balletomanes, it's especillay people who never go to POB who come to this free matinee.

That is sad news. When you have news of the casting Catherine, would you post it for us. All will not be lost if Laurent Hilaire still dances.

Does anyone know what the chances are for her dancing in London this summer?

I post news till I have it. All performance risk to have changement, it's seems that one of Romeo is also injuried but perhaps will he dance. I don't know if Hilaire will dance with Letestu if it's her who replace Guillem.

"Guillem doesn't dance Juliet at POB"

Will that mean she will not be dancing
either for Giselle (La Scala Ballet) in Milan,
the U.S. and London ?

If so, it will really be a shame!!

I don't know if she won't dance Giselle. Juliet is one of the more hard role of repertory and she could perhaps not dance this role without be injuried.
We know that she cancelled her participation at POB performance, it would be in two weeks 26, 28 and 29.

Perhaps will be more longer for her to recover, it seems that it's her first bad injury. And often when the dancer are "old" when they have their first bad injuried, they have problem to recover and are more often injuried. It was the case at POB with Platel, who never injuried before 32 or 33 years and after was always injuried and cancelled too many of her performance, especially when she must dance on Bastille floor.

   Catherine,

Thank you very much for your kind (and prompt, too!!)
reply.

If Guillem is not in a good condition, I am afraid that her schedule for June-July-August might be too tight for her.

Guillem's Cancellation is confirmed by POB, she will be replace by Fanny Gaïda with Nicolas Le Riche whose her last performance "Farewell performance"* must be in same time that first performance of Midsummer night dream the 26 june.

For 28 and 29 june it's the débuts of Agnes Letestu with Laurent Hilaire as partner. The other cast are not yet changed but could be.

* Fanny Gaïda must retire theorically on 23 june, and now it will be at 26. It's a shame to change dates. POB direction doesn't care of Dancers, and audience.

Arbo's Farewell were so sad and if Fanny Gaïda has not true farewells evening it's really a shame.

Not that I really "know" the details...I think Guillem is also trying to save energy for her presentation of Giselle in the US with La Scala. I mean, right now, the publicity for La Scala is very highly dependant on Guillem. SHE is the part of the reason why the company is able to participate in the Lincoln Center Festival, for example.
