Can only find one piece today, but it's a goodie:

Last dances: why our best ballets are slowly dying. Largely unrecorded in his lifetime, the work of Sir Frederick Ashton is gradually vanishing. While others have bodies dedicated to their preservation, who will guard the legacy of Britain's finest ever choreographer? Ismene Brown reports:

There is also a piece in Today's FT on Durante/Mukhamedov Giselle by Clement Crisp who as always praises Mukhamedov for being the 'finest Albrecht' . In fact he praises both of them and says Durante is an ideal partner for this but he does tend to write the review from Albrecht's view ! He does say that' Durante offers the softest, lightest dancing, the most delicate feelings, and beautifully so' but he concentrates on Mukhamedov's artistry. He also says her portrayal is heart-rending.

The site for the Giselle review is

http://www.ft.com/hippocampus/q11b05e.htm

My own review is almost scathing compared to others. Actually I thought she was wonderful but after panning Sylvie I thought I better not play up Viv too much.

There is also an article in the Independant about the Kirov SB- not very flattering. Independant can only be seen on the day as far as I know

Is this Independent review on the Kirov's Sleeping Beauty available on the internet at all? Presumably it is written by either John Percival or Nadine Meisner.

I'm just back from holiday and catching up on the postings. I'm pretty sure there's a pirated "Persephone" out there somewhere. I could swear I've seen it, (or am I hallucinating?). There certainly should be enough of the original dancers out there to recreate it. Question: does Sylvie have a good enough speaking voice to carry it off? For those of you who never saw "Persephone" or heard her speak, Beriosova DID have the most beautiful speaking voice.
