"Anthony Dowell Farewell Dinner"

I just thought I should let you know how well the Ballet Association Annual Dinner went last Thursday. This year was very special for the Association as we were honouring our Patron, Anthony Dowell.
As usual, there were numerous members of the Company who attended and thereby allowed members the chance to chat with people they may well have seen only on stage. For the record, the guests were as follows (definitely NOT in order of precedence:
Sir Anthony Dowell, Monica Mason, Lesley Collier, Donald Macleary, Adam Cooper, Sarah Wildor, Alina Cojocaru, Ivan Putrov, Derek Rencher, David Drew, Jeanneta Lawrence, Sir Peter and Lady Wright, Gail Taphouse, Christopher Carr, Christopher Newton, Johan Kobborg, Jamie Tapper, Johan Persson, Elizabeth Mcgorian, Giacomo Ciriaci, Muriel Valtat and Philip and Mrs Gammon.
The dinner took place at the Rubens hotel and was a great success. The speeches were wonderful starting with David Drew who paid tribute to Anthony both as a dancer and a director, Sir Anthony himself who, visibly moved, spoke very personally about his reasons for taking up the post of Director and for relinquishing it - his words moved all those assembled. Finally, our Chairman, Michael, spoke in tribute to Sir Anthony from a ballet-lover's perspective.
The Association's Secretary, Joan, presented Sir Anthony with a gift from us all.
It was a wonderful evening and one with a real sense of 'family'- it was what the Ballet Association is all about.

If anyone feels motivated to join the Association by this, then just e-mail me. It costs 7 (5 for concessions) for the year. There are monthly meetings during the season at which dancers are interviewed, the Annual Dinner, a newsletter and some new initiatives are in the pipeline. My e-mail is gd@clsb.org.uk

   Hi Gerald,
I have tried contacting you by e-mail but it got rejected
with the error message "service not available".
Should I just try this e-mail address again tomorrow or so
or is there another way of contacting you?
I would like to join the Association.

As far as I know, my e-mail is working, so, sorry about that - I don't know what the problem is!
Delighted that you want to join the Association - what is your e-mail, so that I can write to you !

   Hi Gerald,
I tried again today but at the moment I do not seem to be able
to get a mail through to gd@clsb.org.uk
My e-mail address reveals my name and I am not so comfortable
posting it here. Is there any other way of contacting you?
Otherwise I keep trying sending e-mails. The server cannot keep
having problems forever.

   Odile,

Why not give me a call on my mobile ? 0794 452 1236 and if its switched off (it often is), then leave a message with your details and I'll make sure that we get an application form sent off to you. I fully understand your reluctance to disclose your address on an open site.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Best regards

Gerald

(Some others have successfully got through to me, so you must be jinxed !)
