"Advice - New York City Ballet"

As I expect you know, NYCB are going to be at the Edinburgh Festival again this summer. Having spent several weeks begging and begging and *begging*, I have finally been granted permission to go. The problem is, they are bringing three mixed bills and I can't decide which to see. The choice is:

Program 1:
Appalachia Waltz (Mahdaviani)
Slonimsky's Earbox (Martins)
Barber Violin Concerto (Martins)
Mercurial Manouvres (Wheeldon)

OR
Program 2:
Polyphonia (Wheeldon)
Ash (Martins)
Herman Schmerman pdd (Forsythe)
Zakousi (Martins)
Ancient Airs and Dances (Tanner)

OR
Program 3:
La Stravaganza (Preljocaj)
Red Angels (Dove
Chiaroscuro (Taylor-Corbett)
Jeu de Cartes (Martins)

You see, what I *really* wanted to see was some Balanchine (I've only ever seen one Balanchine) or at least some Robbins. I haven't heard of half the above. So if anyone has any advice on which would be the best to see, I would be very grateful...

Just giving this a nudge to the top because, like you, I was hoping someone might have some comment about any of the above programs.
If you've got the stamina I see that NYCB are doing different programs at matinee and evening on 31/8 and 1/9.
However, it would seem a shame to spend the day at the playhouse and miss the rest of the festival if you only have one day.

Sorry, I'm no use either, but wondered if you'd thought of putting a similar request on balletalert as they seem to be more US based and might have some insight
