had an e-mail back from Georgie at the ROH , although the BBC or ITV etc are not recording " A Knight at the Ballet " , the BBC are making a documentary about Sir Anthony to be shown on BBC Knowledge around the time of the gala . also the BBC inform me that unless there will be a demand for the Nutcracker that was shown over christmas it will not be relesed on DVD i.e they need to know it will make them money! i did point out that "Coppelia" was shown in February of the prevoius year and has just been released on DVD ..i mean how many times do they need to be told there IS a market out there..i mean look at the figures they got for showing the programme in the first place!! not to mention that i was not the only person to buy the " Coppelia" DVD , was i ?? or the opening performance of the new house on video...so please BBC ..take notice of us little people out here!! On a more lighter note..does anyone have BBC Knowledge?? as i will have to get a copy of the documentary when it comes out ..will supply video tape and postage etc.

It is typical of the BBC that they are not broadcasting either an important ballet event or an interesting ballet programme on public service TV. I am not sure that I can receive BBC Knowledge TV as it is digital and I live in a fringe area, I would not waste money on a digital TV subscription either. What hopes for Opera and Ballet fans when the new man takes over at Covent Garden he ran the BBC news!!
