   Many happy returns to the great Antoinette Sibley on her birthday today. Dowell's legendary partner and one of the greatest dancers of the post-war era.

   I remember, as a teeneger, hearing on the news that she had to stand in at the last minute (I think for Margot Fonteyn) as Odette/Odile. She was so young it made the national news, and I believe that was her first step on the ladder to stardom.
