OK this all sounds very cloak and dagger. Is this true or is someone out there winding us all up? I would like to hear from a definite source.

Yes, I agree. I can't believe that a good team like Cooper/Brotherston/Feeney have been dumped. More news, please!

Adam and Lez's project has not been cancelled or dropped by AMP. The simple reason being that it has NEVER at any time been an AMP project.AMP exists soley to produce work that I direct and choreograph. The confusion has arisen because at one point Katharine Dore, AMP's producer , was considering producing the project with her own management company , KD Management. This ,I believe, is now not happening. As far as I am aware,Adam and Lez are still planning for the production to happen this year and I for one wish them every success with it.Hope this clears things up for you All the Best, Matthew Bourne

Thank you Matthew. I knew you could be relied upon. I must admit I thought the truth was along those lines so thank you for clearing up the confusion.

Great, itís good to learn that the Adam/Lez project is progressing. By the way, I would strongly second Gailís comment on USA based interest in the doings of Cooper and AMP, either separately or jointly. New Yorkís appetite for dance is strong. And, in case you have doubts, an endorsement of support by the critics of the NY Times really greases the skids. Both Kisselgoff and Canby of their staff were impressed; Iíd get back over here soon.

Matt is absolutly right! Katharine Dore NOT Adventures in Motion Pictures had an option on producing the Liaison project. Shortly after Adam and I posted a message on this site, Katharine decided not to produce the project. It was always proposed as an independant production and neither Matt or AMP were involved in any decision which resulted in Katherines withdrawing.
Both Adam and I are very flattered by the interest in the project and hope to have more news very soon.

Thanx for the updates! when I read that the project will be cancelled I was really worried. I was hoping Six Faces (& Adam Cooper) will come to Israel and got really upset when I heard the news, but it isn't the end of the project, is it? someone else is going to produce it instead of Katherine Dore, right?
Because ballet that deals with Paganini's character is a wonderful idea, and if it's choreographed by Adam Cooper and designed by Lez Brotherston.... well, I think I'm not the only one in Israel who would like to see it...
I hope to hear more news anyway.

Netta
P.S
Adam Cooper isn't afraid of a bunch of Arabs throwing stones on each other, is he?

I'am sorry? But really is a comment like that necessary? 300 people...some of them children have died, who can forget that child on television, hiding w/ his father..he died in front of our eyes....and he did not die from a stone.

I don't think you meant to be offensive, but the reality is that statements like this are offensive to very many people around the world. As Nikki points out people are dieing

I think Netta may have been referring to a newspaper article some time ago in which Adam described a holiday in Israel. He and his friends had passed through Hebron the day before a massacre. In his own words "We had been warned not to go and there were roadblocks everywhere and we were questioned each time as to what we were doing. It was pretty frightening and even more so the next day when we realised how close we had been to disaster". I don't reckon he was joking.

>the day before a massacre.

and to think that we now live in the 21st century. its funny how a species can create music, art and culture...yet have no regard for its fellow people. The situation in Isreal deeply upsets and saddens me...and narrow strip of land..fought over by people who have such deep affection for it. One of them fighting w/ stones and bombs...the other w/ troops, the military...a capital which is dear to 3 world wide religions..I pray that they resolve their differences, and I pray that Ariel Sharon does not repeat his massacre of Palestians...and that the Palestians hold dangerous terriosts.......... and I pray that other genocides not covered in the Press like Burma, Afganistan...are resolved...and I hope that the west lift their sanctions on Iraq...but no our news dont show the suffering caused there.

I applaude Mr Sweeny for his work w/ amnesty International..and Christoper Bruce for his work w/human rights.

Actually I wasn't referring to that interview, because I've never read it... it's a coincidence.
People, I wasn't making fun of the Intifada. I am the last one to
do such thing, since I live near an arabic village. I'm sorry if the comment was offensive, but it was serious: not so long ago there was supposed to be a Science Fiction convention, for example, with guests from the US and the UK, a really important convence, but it was canceled in the last moments because the guests were afraid to come. School trips were canceled too, but more important- my parents (and many other parents I know)become hysterical whenever I need to take a bus. If the comment sounded like a joke I'm sorry. What I meant was that the Intifada shouldn't disconnect Israel from the world. I guess it sounded like a joke because sometimes, if you don't look at things differently you become depressed and it's not helpful in these days. BUT, I want you to know something as a girl that really understands the situation- It's not you who live in fear. It's not you who send your son/brother/father/husband to a never-ending war because you're forced to. What you see on television is not the real situation. I know that israelies are represented as animals and war criminals, but we're afraid too, our children are dying too, and we face terror every single day, so don't tell me that only the Palestinians suffer. I believe in peace, I believe that the palestinians need to have their own state somehow, but I also know that when that car exploded in the middle of the street in Jerusalem (I guess you haven't heard of it, I wonder why)those Israelies didn't die because of stones. Maybe you're right, you know. I shouldn't have written that comment. But since it has been already done, at least I had the opportunity explain my point of view, and say that, well.. sometimes humour, even something that sounds like humour, covers a distress.
