"ENB Nutcracker Endurance Awards 2000/2001"

This year, special awards should go to Robert Marshall, Dmitri Gruzdyev and Erina Takahashi. Gruzdyev and Marshall, particularly the latter, seem to have had to do virtually all the performances of Drosselmeyer since about Christmas, owing to a distinct shortage of fit Drosselmeyers. Not only that, but Gruzdyev has had to dance the Prince as well, and Takahashi is the only dancer in the company to have been doing Clara, Ice Queen *and* Sugar Plum. All seem to have been on 5 or more nights a week, and I think they all deserve a medal!

On a slightly different note, to judge by my own and other people's observations, Monica Perego, who I admit I've never thought of particularly as a Classical ballerina, has been doing some extremely good Sugar Plums - very lyrical and musical.
