"Covent Garden"

I walked passed Covent Garden last night. It looks beautiful. All the boards and scaffolding are down. The building must be the biggest opera house in the world (or close to it!)

Of particularly interest is that the Indian restaurant where we had dinner once- that is now an expensive touristy Italian restaurant called La Ballerina! Any coincidence here to report!

There is also a Marks and Spencer right next to the theatre - its food halls are open to 10pm. I think this must be a cause for concern for the ROH. I am sure a major source of income is the sale of overpriced food and drinks (orange juice at 2!)

I can't wait till the next season- pity that the first season is not a full one!

Yes, Eugene, but if we do all go to M&S in the interval, we will miss our chance of mixing with the cream of society talking about every subject imaginable; except ballet, of course.

I think that is another reason why to go to M&S!

I think the ROH should allow M&S to do their catering for sandwiches etc.

Well, unless CG have gone back to selling decent ice-creams, I for one shall probably be dashing over there in the interval!

No need to dash - it is literally outside the door! M & S are clearly targetting CG patrons!
