"Public Postal Booking Ballot"

Firstly, has anyone had their tickets for period 2 Winter from the public ballot ? I discovered that my application has not even been dealt with and they are supposed to have sent out tickets by now which means I obviously have no chance now. I am not sure that a ballot is so fair. I appreciate that the lines were always engaged when they did not have a postal ballot but I still think that first come first serve is fairer and at least when you did eventually get through you were being dealt with on a first come first serve basis. It shouldn't really be a matter of pot luck whether you get a ticket or not if you book so far in advance. What do people think ?

The ROH send out booking forms in batches. I have received mine 3 weeks after another Friend. Also, people do go on holiday. Your proposal would be unfair. A ballot gives all a fair chance.

Here's another subject for discussion. How do other Friends feel about paying 55 pa for priority booking only to find people in the general booking sitting in front of them in better seats?

I must have been incredibly lucky so far....maybe there are`nt
so many people wanting to sit in the Upper Slips! I think the
worst seat I`ve had has been AA7. Also, when I`ve asked for
Amphi Restricted, they have given me really good ones....am I
tempting providence?! I don`t think that the Friends sub is too
bad..we go to quite a lot of events during the year...though I`ve
stopped going to rehearsals as it costs more than a seat in the
slips!

I got Row J (Amphi restricted) and I had my tickets returned in the first week that they were sending them out.

Do not test providence!

Mine arrived 2 days ago, so there's still hope. There was a time, if I remember exactly, when postal applications were dealt with strictly in order of receipt, but they've abandoned that along with mailing-list priority. And don't worry - I think I got all my first-choice dates, so the situation probably isn't that dire.
