As of today we are 6 years old. I, and many others, have a few more grey hairs than we once did I can tell you!
When we were two years old I did a magazine piece about it all. The piece includes links back to the very first versions of the site - grossly embarrassing in a way, but its part of the heritage I think:
I'll do another piece for the next magazine I think - though goodness knows how I'll remember what happened when!
Its interesting to see where we have got to though. Kevin Ng just sent this picture he snapped when the Kirov were on in New York recently - our name up in lights - the quote being from one of Kevin's reviews of course:
I also recall the Bolshoi using a quote from one of our reviews in their printed advertising, and we routinely feature as resource links in many newspaper pieces. And in the first 7 months of this year alone I think we've featured in the published hot-links of at least 2 dancers. Although postings is mainly about the audience, many professionals - critics and companies - start their day by looking in to see what has been happening and what the punters think. It's not always pretty of course, but it does at last give key stakeholders - the ones that actually pay for it all - a chance to say what they think about what is done in their name. That has to be good. I'll shut up now, more in the next magazine...
Tally Ho everybody!
